Make time For the Next Generation

Last week I took the afternoon off work to go and speak at one of my local secondary schools St Marks Academy. I was asked to speak in connection to black history month but was unavailable in October.

But my timing couldn't have been better as some of the children were down because they didn't get the grades they expected in their mock exams. I have spoken in this school on numerous occasions, so the faculty know my story. They wanted me to lift the students' spirits with my struggle during education due to my dyslexia and how I overcame the barriers it created.

The response from this fantastic group of future leaders resulted in many good questions. Ultimately, they were able to understand they could be or do anything they set their minds to.
